TWITTER

Who here uses Twitter?

I must admit to doing a full U turn . . I hated it not long ago . . . Until I realised I can update my facebook status with a single text by using it, Now It's my new best friend.

I've never used Twitter, I don't know much about it either. I'm a bit dumb where Twitter is concerned.

I just dont get Twitter at all, there's nothing else but just letting people know what you're doing, which you can do on Facebook amongst other things.  I do have an account, don't ask me what it is cause I've no idea lol

i did join but found that there was very few people who i know on there and it just seemed a bit boring, but i could se how it can grow on you because its very popular with lots of people

I've got an account on there but I've only used it once. I used to be on facebook all the time but I got bored with it and haven't been on there in ages either.

I do happen to have a Facebook that I might log into once a month (if I think about it)
and a Myspace (that I cant even remember the address of)
but I've never even visited  Twitter, Bebo or any of the others  - and have always avoided chatrooms.
I have, however, visited hundreds of forums.
Ok now............
perhaps I'm a bit slow but I prefer forums because, while being able to join in a friendly community, one doesn't need to instantly come up with a response to a given situation, which for me (being a bit slow) allows for a more considered response and, hopefully, a little less putting of ones foot in ones mouth :D
Also I feel that forums are better able to reflect the tastes of the membership as opposed to some overall blueprint laid down by the networking sites.


BTW out of those hundreds of forums that I've visited, I do feel this happens to be one of the best.

Twitter just takes a few weeks to grow on you.  I joined because my favorite singer joined (the week after I met him...woooo). So I am very new to twitter, but I really enjoy it thus far.  

I follow comedians on there...Rain Wilson (from American's Office), Christina Applegate, etc.  They have hilarious updates and sometimes,  I just need that little bit of laughter at that moment.

I love how twitter will send you a text when someone updates. And that I get to pick and choose from whom I receive texts.  Plus unlike facebook, there is no pressure to respond at all.  I know what is going on in my friends' lives, but I don't have to comment or reply.  I just get to know a fact about someone and ponder it for a day or so.  

I do still really enjoy Facebook though.  I think both are valuable.  I also think Facebook's recent changes  were prompted by the success of Twitter.  I still think Facebook had a perfect product a few months back where people were truly addicted to the site.  When they changed this last time, I have noticed that I don't  go there as often and when I am there, I just feel lost on the site.  I really wish they hadn't changed to be more like Twitter.  Twitter is much different and has a purpose all its own.  Facebook was so much fun and easy to keep up with everyone and actually interact in a unique way.  

If you haven't been to Twitter recently, I would suggest giving it another try.

I've been on twitter today...tried to update my profile but wont let me upolad a photo at the moment. I think if you hve lots of people to follow then it can be interesting but when you are starting out with noone it can be a bit boring.

You are so right, Dolly...I missed it!  Steel Bat, I agree with you. Out of all the many forums I have been a part of...this one feels the most like family!

I'm having one Problem on there that's bugging me . . .

On your Profile, it shows little images of who you're following doesn't it?

For some reason, it only shows three images on mine when I'm following 15.

I can see all the images when I click on home, but when I go back on my profile it insists on only showing three??

im still confused on there.... keith joined up this morning too and for some strange reason it said he was following me and vise versa yet neither of us added the other

I didn't send it, but Twitter is great fun!  I think I like Twitter better than any of the other social networks (and believe me...I have tried many...haha).

You find people to follow     I use the same username as on here, once you get someone to follow you can scour their followers to see if you know anyone else

They both had links that said "I love to ****" so I blocked them.

I joined but I have to say that I have refused loads of people.  I don't want people I don't know following me.  I'm not sure what all the hype is.  Maybe Ineed to spend a bit more time investigating it.

You guys can set your updates to private.  I rarely have any requests come through.

I enjoy following strangers as I enjoy seeing how other people think.  I have several comedians on mine as they are hilarious to read.  Also, if I see comments to some of the celebs that I find really interesting or just really funny, then I will follow them as well.

My favorite part of facebook is the updates...so twitter just takes the updates and leaves all the fillers behind.  That is its only purpose.  Just to know quickly what others are doing with their time.

Ah yes, I've got you     I'm still not quite with it on Twitter yet, I log in now and again to see what's happening but I prefer the variety of Facebook!
