The 16 celebrities who will compete in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing have been officially announced.

The seventh series of the BBC show will see judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood return to the panel alongside newcomer Alesha Dixon, who has replaced Arlene Phillips.

The female contestants and their dancing partners are:

* Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna
* Lynda Bellingham and Darren Bennett
* Natalie Cassidy and Vincent Simone
* Martina Hingis and Matthew Cutler
* Jade Johnson and Ian Waite
* Zoe Lucker and James Jordan
* Laila Rouass and Anton du Beke
* Jo Wood and Brendan Cole

The male contestants and their dancing partners are:

* Joe Calzaghe and Kristina Rihanoff
* Richard Dunwoody and Lilia Kopylova
* Ricky Groves and Erin Boag
* Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan
* Craig Kelly and Flavia Cacace
* Phil Tufnell and Katya Virshilas
* Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe
* Rav Wilding and Aliona Vilani

Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will return to front the competition, while Claudia Winkleman will host spinoff show It Takes Two.

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing begins next month.

cool but couldn't they replace Bruce as well.....sorry but honestly he was rubbish last year......maybe Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom could take over...........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now there's a lovely thought!

I really wish they'd replace Bruce too, he's past his best now I'm afraid, and why on earth they've had to replace Arlene I do not know! What qualifications does Alesha Dixon have to become a judge?!!!!

Yeah, but what does age have to do with it, only to pull in the younger, and perhaps the male viewers I guess! I like Arlene!

I didn't particulary enjoy watching Zoe dancinb but she could dance far better than some of the others.

Couldn't believe Ali was in the bottom 2 either. She is a lovely dancer but she was in pain wasn't she.

Craig had the sympathy & public vote to keep going. Zoe never had the public behind her & James for the last couple of weeks. I do like Craig & Flavia hoped he would improve more. Take care luv Juliexx
