Heart attack? Singer Michael Jackson is believed to have suffered a heart attack at his home this afternoon
Singer Michael Jackson is believed to have suffered a heart attack at his home in Los Angeles this afternoon.
Reports say that Jackson, 50, went into cardiac arrest and has been rushed to hospital.
He was seen being taken into an ambulance and moved to a nearby hospital, says US gossip website TMZ.
Paramedics were seen performing CPR on the singer, according to the website,
Jackson's mother was said to be at the hospital to meet her son.
It is believed a call to 911 was made from his home in Holmby Hills, LA, at 12.21pm (8.21pm).
A member of the Jackson family told TMZ that 'Michael is in really bad shape'.
An update on the website says, 'We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says "he is not doing well".'
The singer is due to play 50 sell-out shows at London's O2 Arena starting in July.
But the King of Pop has already had to postpone the first few nights' shows.
Organisers AEG Live said this was in order to make sure everything for the 'massive and technically complex show' was running smoothly.
But critics say ongoing concerns about Jackson's health are the real reason behind the gigs having to be postponed.

Sky News reported that TMZ said he was dead, but that LA Times said he was in a coma.
That has now changed to say LA Times is reporting they've had confirmation that he is dead. |

| I think its pretty much confirmed as being true. A lady talking now on Sky News says that the LA Times sets the bar for reporting in that area and they are reporting that he's dead. It seems like this happened a few hours ago but they've held back on reporting it till now. |

| I'm seriously shocked by this. I've just got up and, after making morning coffee I put the tv on to watch GMTV and it's all over there that he's died. My sympathy goes to his children and the rest of his family. |

I know a lot of you are fans here so I'll not comment any further except to
say that his early music was totally amazing.
I'm sorry for the fans that spent so much money wanting to see him. I hope they are reimbursed. |
