So last night Grey's Anatomy finished. I stayed up later than usual to watch is because I needed to know if Izzy was going to be killed off or not. It was a fabulous double episode with her having surgery etc for her brain tumour and it seemed to go well. Then, she stopped breathing almost at the end of the second episode and, ignoring her DNR they got those electric paddle thingys out to try and save her.
And then, in one of the side stories, a 'John Doe' who wasn't expected to live through the night turned out to be George which was a huge shock and the stupid episode ended with Izzy still flatlining and George struggling for life in the operating theatre!!
The camera's went off to a lift that had Izzy in it in a lovely posh dress and the door opened to show George. They sort of just smiled at each other and that was it. Now I have to wait for the new series to start, which will probably be next year so I can find out if they save either of them!!
So, the question is, do you love it when a series ends on a cliffhanger or do you get mad because you need to know what happens?

They are frustrating as hell and drive me crazy but at the same time it has an exciting element to it too.
I have a love/hate relationship with the cliffhanger ending. |

The only time the cliffhanger ending is dire for me is when you then learn that the show in question has been cancelled and thus never learning what happened.
This happened with Angel and also with Farscape. At least the creators of Farscape made 2 feature length episodes a year or so afterwards to tie up the loose ends so I did find out how it ended after all. As for Angel, I still have no clue what happened/was going to happen, although given the way it finished I reckon they're all dead lol! |
